"Floater specialist Yinson Production has signed an agreement to help Himile Heavy Equipment build its proprietary liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) tanks at the Chinese fabricator's Rushan manufacturing site. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Singapore-headquartered Yinson and Australia-listed partner Provaris with Himile advances their push towards commercialising floating storage and injection unit (FSIU) opportunities," Asia Energy Correspondent Ting Nan Wang wrote.
"Provaris noted that the MoU runs in parallel to the LCO2 tank front-end engineering and design contract (FEED) to determine ease of manufacturing, cost and delivery timelines, which it said are critical to the development of the FSIU and carbon capture and storage value chain. The latest agreement will focus on preliminary design of a detailed robotic production facility and cost estimate of fabricating the LCO2 tanks."
